Dr. Lindsey Wilson is an Early Childhood Expert, Equity Specialist, Researcher, Counselor, Consultant, and Trainer. With a Masters of Science in Counseling and Student Personnel from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a PhD in Educational Psychology from University of Washington, Seattle. She promotes educational equity by collaborating with school districts, early childhood programs, community organizations, and other direct service providers.
Through interactive on-site trainings and reflective supervision Dr. Wilson supports the growth of programs, parents, and staff. She has trained school personnel on the importance of Equity, Infant/Toddler Mental Health, Child Development, Father Engagement, and the importance of Strength-Based practices. Serving as a community facilitator, she has led conversations surrounding Changing the Narrative, Equitable practices in early childhood education, and Parent-Child dyads. With well over a decade of service in early childhood, Dr. Wilson has collaborated with programs to implement practice-based coaching and reflective supervision. As a researcher, Dr. Wilson examines the influence of race, class and gender in education. Her article "Building Relationships: The Key to Engaging Fathers" has been published in Teaching Young Children and addresses essential components that programs should consider when trying to engage fathers. In other work, she has examined the messages that African American fathers have received about themselves through televised media and the influence it may have had on their fatherly role. In effort to build a bridge between research and practice, Dr. Wilson captured a portion of her findings through a research-based comic. Dr. Wilson currently resides in Dallas, Texas but continues to train nationwide.
